Ask Siri (any plan)
Once you’ve opened the app, Siri knows your script titles. Try:
- “Open Launch video in Teleprompter Studio”
- “Record Launch video in Teleprompter Studio”: the recorder opens ready; tap record when you’re set.
- “How long is Launch video in Teleprompter Studio?”: Siri tells you the read time at the script’s pace, including pauses.
- “Review my script changes in Teleprompter Studio”: opens the next script with an AI change waiting for you.
The same actions are in the Shortcuts app and Spotlight. They only open and read. On any plan, Siri never changes a script by itself. Needs iOS 16 or later.
Polish scripts with a Shortcut (Pro)
First, in the app, open Settings and switch on Siri & Shortcuts can edit scripts. It appears under Connected assistants as “Siri”, and you can switch it off at any time. That adds three Shortcuts actions: Get Script Text, Update Script Text and Create Script.
To make a “Polish my script” shortcut on a device with Apple Intelligence:
- In the Shortcuts app, tap + and add Get Script Text. Long-press its Script field and choose Ask Each Time.
- Add Use Model, choose a model (on-device, Private Cloud Compute or ChatGPT) and enter a prompt such as: “Rewrite this teleprompter script so it’s natural to say aloud. Keep its meaning. Keep every tag in square brackets. Add [p1] for a short breath and [p2] for a pause where they help, and wrap the key words in [b] and [/b]. Reply with the script only.” Pass it the Script Text.
- Add Update Script Text, set Script to the same script and New Text to the model’s Response.
- Name the shortcut Polish my script. Now say “Siri, polish my script”.
The rewrite arrives in Teleprompter Studio as a change marked Changed by Siri. Compare it, Keep it or Undo it, like any AI assistant’s change. The same safety checks apply.
What about the new Siri?
Apple’s new AI Siri can act inside apps only in ways Apple has defined, and those don’t yet include rewriting a document such as a script. Until they do, the Shortcut above is the way to have Apple’s AI polish a script by voice. We’ll add more as Apple opens it up.
Privacy
Siri learns your script titles and read times from the app on your device. With Use Model, the script text is processed by the model you choose: on your device, by Apple’s Private Cloud Compute, or by ChatGPT under OpenAI’s terms. See the Privacy Policy.
